The prequel of Mr. Hopp's Playhouse starts when a donation package for the children arrives in the Blacklands Manor Orphanage. Some of the boxes actually contain three creepy toys which they named Mr. Stripes, Mr. Bo, and Mr. Hopp respectively. Mr. Hopp, the rabbit toy, was claimed by Esther while Mr. Stripes—tiger doll—and Mr. Bo—panda doll—were taken by her two friends named Molly and Isaac.
However, even before the three eerie toys get sent to the orphanage, Esther has already seen Mr. Hopp in one of her nightmares thus she had this bizarre familiar feeling when she saw a doll the size of him. Unfortunately, the bad dreams and hallucinations will worsen once Mr. Hopp is put into her possession. Not only that, her two great friends will suddenly disappear into thin air.
Most of your nightmares will challenge you to finish a certain task to wake up, like collecting symbols and carefully walking through a hallway without getting caught by the Three Curses. With the mentioned tasks, you can expect to encounter scenes consisting of mild violence. As a haunted 2D side-scroller game, it manages to present atmospheric pixel art graphics making you fully immersed in the play.
